Online shopping has potential - couldn't
that be transformed into architecture? Yes indeed
- Welcome to "Fashion virus." We are selling
more than just t-shirts. We are selling an atmosphere,
a combination of online and emotion store. The fashion
virus system is related to the idea of " User
Created Content " : for example, the web2.0,
with systems such as ebay, weblogs and Wikipedia.
It is a public space, open 24 hours, 365 days a
year, with online access. We created a multifunctional
event platform, where all kinds of events take place
(fashion shows, dj events...). All public events
are broadcasted over www.fashion-virus.com. It feels
as if you are in New York, Tokyo, and Berlin at
the same time!
The stores function like vending machines connected
worldwide: Push a button and your merchandise is
thrown out like a soda can! A network of stores
situated in the most important fashion locations
around the world. All stores are connected by an
Interface, where everyone can buy and sell! It?
a connecting platform between salesmen, customers,
and worldwide fashion virus stores. The main task
is to transfer t-shirts according to ranking and
supply and demand. The interface therefore provides
the right kind and number of t-shirts at an early
stage, when the fashion wave runs from New York
to Tokyo. We understand fashion as a virus that
sends impulses around the world.
This is reflected in our architecture, which consists
of two components: the first is the fashion virus
area, where the multiplying virus shapes the building.
Like a virus, the first element then encloses the
tower, the other of the two components. The virus
is software, an interface, the emotional part of
a public space.
The tower is hardware, a server, the mechanical
part, where t-shirts are stored in units. The tower
contains up to 5000 t-shirts. They are served by
a combination of CNC devices and a rotating storage
system. It is an automatic process starting with
storage and ending with the consumer, who then receives
his order. |
